Doctor / Nurse – is it really better?

Some clinics prides with a “Doctor”, or a nurse. Is it really that important? My simple answer is: Absolutely not. The only thing that comes into my mind is the expectation for trouble – otherwise you should not have a certified medical stuff in a standby mode around you….
Second thing you should consider is the cost – doctors earn good money and the one who will take care of it is you, of course….you can’t expect that a certified MD will settle with a tech payment isn’t it?
In most cases the name of the doctor is only for the show….he/she might just meet you on your consultation appointment, or even won’t do that. Clinics like to show they have a doctor in charge, as it would help you if the technician would burn your skin badly….
I have a bit more than a good cause to suspect that the doctors over confident sometime causes them to take an unnecessary risk approach when dealing with a laser hair removal machine. In those rare cases you will take the burn as well as the high price tag attached to it.
I have seen recently a client which was treated by an MD and, oh boy, it didn’t look good. Nurses are not exceptional with one small difference – the price is a bit lower.
An experienced laser technician handled, in most cases, quite a bit more laser removal sessions than a bunch of doctors had all together.
Bottom line: don’t get too excited if you see an MD on a clinic’s ad….it might mean one thing for sure – you will pay for it.

Choosing the right Laser hair removal clinic – part 2

Wrong Assumptions

On previous chapter I showed some of the problems on which the average customers will probably run into when looking for the right clinic to perform his/her laser hair removal. How can you know which clinic is suited for you, which will fit your needs the best.
Common mistakes when trying to choose a laser clinic is to pick by price. Most clients call the clinic and ask about the price. Your question will likely to be: “what is your price for full legs”? By asking that question you are assuming that the product is exactly the same everywhere. The following question will probably be: “How many sessions do I need to finish the job”? The purpose of that question is to help you estimate the total cost of the laser treatment. By doing so you are assuming two things: all people’s bodies and physiology are the same, and the second assumption is that the answer you just received from the clinic is accurate. Both assumptions are incorrect.
By asking questions targeting price you are ignoring some significant issues like: effectiveness, time and the differences between each and every one of us.
Effectiveness - Meaning the results you get after certain number of treatments on the same person, at the same time by different machines. In simple words: how many hairs will last on your skin after the treatment is completely over.
Time – an important factor that many have the tendency to forget that influence directly on the price. If in one clinic your legs laser hair removal procedure will last and hour while the other will do it in two you can use a whole hour. It is know that Time = Money. Of course we are assuming that the effectiveness of both treatments is equal.
“How many treatments do I need?” is a great example to a question that is really impossible to answer. Although most of the callers are trying to determine their anticipated expanses, very few of them do really understand its complexity. It is based on numerous elements, mostly beyond our ability to influence at all.
Answers – to this question is tricky: on one hand you can give a realistic and reasonable answer like “6-10 sessions”, but on the other hand you might lose your potential client because you know that one of your colleagues could quote much lesser number like: “4-5”….in fact all those numbers are good as guesses. Not more.

Choosing the right laser hair removal clinic – is it really possible?

The popularity of laser hair removal. on recent years has caused to a huge prosperity in that field. All over the country, in every city, every town, in each neighborhood and street they are growing like weed after the rain. There are thousands of laser clinics all over and around therefore almost impossible for the average person who seeks their services, to pick the right one.

Usually when one has basically two choices when seek a decent laser clinic: ask if any of your friends to recommend of a place he/she used to be treated in, or, the other option is to look for one by searching the net, most likely by Google search engine.

None of those ways are certain or can ensure your right decision.

Let’s say that you asked friends and received recommendation of a “very good” clinic. Well, it helped my friend it will surely going to help me….right? Wrong!! The correct answer is: It might be good for you as well as it might not.

Why is that?

There are many possible reasons for that:

- You and your friend are different by hair color and type, skin color, skin structure, hormonal condition, genetics etc.

- The clinic that your friend went to has been changed – it is another owner/manager but the name or the location are the same.

- The person that treated your friend is not the same that the one who will take care of your hair. In many clinics there are number of employees – nobody can promise you that the same one will see you each and every session. It is also possible that the one who treated your friend is no longer working in that clinic.

- Years go by and technology changes fast. The machines that used to do the work yesterday are not considered “good” anymore today. It is hard to keep the pace and get updated each time something new pops up.

- Laser machines are expensive: when one buys it he wishes to use it for the longest time he can. Sooner or later he stuck with an old inefficient machine and, ultimately, you pay the price and bare the result.

- The person who treated your friend became old. Do you know of those old Medical Doctors who knows the same material from the day of their graduation till the day they retire?! Well, it’s about the same. There are laser technicians who keep the same knowledge during their entire career….they just don’t feel like being “off the screen”…

Other option most people take is to search the internet for a clinic that does laser hair removal. Most of the clinics takes for granted that the average client cannot know the different between laser machines, therefore can be manipulated to do the treatment in their facility. The common scenario is that you type your search words on Google and get results. You look at the first page and go to their website. From any reason you choose to attend to one of the locations popped in your search. Did you do the right move? Did you really choose a reliable clinic to deal with your hair? You have no way of knowing that….the odds are much against you. There in no way you could know if your decision was right or wrong. Simply by looking at ones website can tell you almost nothing. Websites are like advertise: their intention is to catch you, the customer, so you will transferee your money from your wallet to their pocket. They will show you only a façade – glimmering ladies with lots of hair aside a photo “after the treatment”. Everybody bumped into a line of photos titled: “before” vs. “after”…..haven’t you?

They will all claim they have the perfect solution for you. They will praise their laser machine and tell you it’s the most modern, efficient, best….etc, which was ever built/invented….

Don’t let nice looking photos or slippery words mislead you!
